Remediation Design and Excess Soil Management
Contamination Confirmed. Here's What Happens Next.
A Phase II ESA that identifies contamination isn’t the end of the road; it’s the beginning of the path forward. KDM Environmental Inc. designs practical, compliant remediation programs that address contamination efficiently and get your site back to a usable condition.
Remediation Design Remediation isn’t one-size-fits-all. The right approach depends on the type of contamination, the depth and extent of impact, the proposed future use of the site, and the regulatory standards that apply. KDM Environmental Inc. develops site-specific remediation designs that are technically sound, cost-effective, and achievable within your project timeline.
We work through the full remediation process, from developing the conceptual approach and preparing the remediation plan to overseeing implementation and confirming that cleanup criteria have been met through verification sampling. When the work is done, you have the documentation to prove it.
Ontario’s excess soil regulations (O. Reg. 406/19) set out clear requirements for how excess soil generated during construction and excavation must be tracked, characterized, and managed. Non-compliance carries real risk, and the regulatory framework continues to be enforced more actively.
KDM Environmental Inc. manages the excess soil process from soil characterization through to reuse site identification and documentation. We prepare the required Excess Soil Management Plans, Assessment of Past Use, Excess Soil Characterization Report and work with project teams to ensure soil is handled in full compliance with provincial requirements, whether it’s being reused on-site, sent to a receiving site, or disposed of.
